Nisha Keetels

Nisha is the General Manager for Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation based in Karratha WA, she has spent 13 years’ working at all levels with indigenous peoples both in New Zealand and Australia.  Completing her Diploma in Business at Auckland University, she was uncertain of what was next.  However, life appeared to already have a plan, as she was head hunted to manage the business interests of the largest Treaty of Waitangi legal practice in New Zealand.  Moving forward to WA her natural affinity for people, integrity and the pursuit of justice has always driven her passion to positively influence and make a difference in the lives of Indigenous people and this to date has been her legacy.   Currently embarking on completing her Masters in Business Administration and International Project Management, her areas of interest are in the ongoing development and positive progression of Indigenous people and their communities, through education, collaboration, forward thinking and the development of sustainable enterprises. To date Nisha has been involved in working on Murujuga Aboriginal Corporations biggest projects and has contributed and provided ongoing support for the MAC Tourism Strategy, which will bring to the Karratha region, a culturally significant experience, of the envisioned Murujuga Living Knowledge Centre on the Burrup Peninsula, which will not only showcase the local Culture, History and Rock Art but many other planned additions to supports its success and business viability.
